The International Awareness and Involvement Committee program focuses on promoting a better understanding and deeper appreciation for the contributions and struggles of people and cultures different from one’s own.
The Dade County Alumnae Chapter is dedicated to developing community programs designed to provide assistance, relief and resources to developing countries; as well as fostering local advocacy for social injustices.
Our current and past initiatives include:
- Donations to Thika Maternity Hospital in Thika, Kenya (now Mary Help of the Sick Mission Hospital)
- Construction of homes in Haiti
- Collections for Hurricane Relief in the Bahamas
- World AIDS Day Event
